BCSF Dharma School

BCSF Dharma School is “A Special Place” for children and teens ages 3 to 18 to make friends, have fun and learn about Buddhism in their daily lives. Dharma School offers three programs to suit the needs of busy families:

  • Sunday School meets every Sunday from September through May.  Four classes are available, led by BCA trained volunteer Sunday School teachers: Pre-K-2nd grade, grade 3-5, middle school and high school. Classes meet in our Educational Building immediately following our Sunday Service at 11:00am.  Younger children are introduced to Buddhism through participation in services, activities, crafts and performances for the Sangha. Older students engage in discussion groups and perform service for the temple.  Sunday school classes take field trips to other temples or local sites of interest.  For more information about Sunday school contact Rev. Ron  Kobata at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or Camille Pating at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • Friday Night Scout Award Classes are provided for elementary, middle and high school students working toward Buddhist awards for Girl Scouts (Padma), Cub Scouts (Metta) and Boy Scouts (Sangha).  Classes meet in our temple library and feature a teen-led service starting at 6:00p and scouting-approved instruction by  Dharma School teachers, Minister Assistants, guest speakers and Rev. Kobata.  The classes encourage young people to explore what it means to be a Buddhist scout. • Summer Dharma School is an intensive one-week summer camp experience for middle and high school aged teens who are interested in learning about Buddhism.   Located on-site at BCSF, Summer Dharma School students participate daily in services with Rev.
